This page is designed to provide support for child behavior observed in the child care setting that require ongoing support for behavioral and developmental delays.
DEVELOPMENTAL
Early On is Michigan's system for helping families of infants and toddlers, birth to age 3 who have developmental delay(s) and/or disabilities.
Build Up is Michigan's system for helping parents and their children, ages 3 through 5, get additional educational support as they begin and continue to learn the skills needed to enter kindergarten.
Zero to Three supports infant and early childhood mental health. Babies are not just observers but active participants in their own development.
BEHAVIORAL
Nest Behavior Documentation Log This Behavior Log is a structured record used to track and monitor an individual's behavior, actions taken, and outcomes over time. These logs are used to gather objective data, identify patterns or triggers, and provide evidence for decision-making, such as implementing interventions or expulsion.
Biting Notification Letter This letter is provided to a parent detailing when their child bit someone (or was bitten), explaining the incident, describing care given, and outlining next steps to manage the behavior, ensuring transparency and collaboration between home and facility.

Fussy Baby This reference guide helps teachers understand that crying is a form of communication and understanding the different types of reasons for crying is very important for the caregiver's peace of mind and for the infant/toddler's well-being. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEVER EVER SHAKE A BABY OR TODDLER! To understand what the problem is, you must listen carefully to the child and try some approaches that may tell you what the child needs or wants.
Toilet Learning and the Toddler This reference guide helps teachers and parents to work together in order to avoid negative emotions and power struggles of potty training.
