Community Helpers cover many groups of people who help in our neighborhoods and community. A community can be small with only a few buildings and homes or large with many buildings and homes. Here are a few activities for the whole family to enjoy while learning and exploring community helpers. Use these activities to point out different community helpers, how each community helper contributes to our world and the similarity/differences of each community helper.
Schedule a trip to the doctor so kids can experience what doctor's do.
Schedule a trip to the dentist so that kids can experience what dentist's do.
Take a bus ride or Q Line train ride to learn about what bus drivers do.
Go for a drive and point out different vehicles like garbage trucks, delivery trucks, emergency vehicles and police cars.
